Longtime Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss passed away in February. The Trojans marching band brought out the Laker Girls to help honor and perform during halftime of Saturday's game against Boston College, and spelled out "BUSS" in the routine. USC, of course, is where Buss earned the rightful title of "Doctor."
Here's what the official Lakers Instagram account had to say about the commemoration:
As part of a special presentation during halftime of the @USC_Athletics-Boston College football game, the USC Trojan Marching Band honored the late Dr. Jerry Buss, Hall of Fame owner of the Lakers. Buss graduated from USC in 1957, earning a PhD in Physical Chemistry, and was a generous supporter of the athletic department’s scholarship fund. He was also a regular at many USC athletic sporting events. All six of Dr. Buss' children were on hand to celebrate.
