Who makes our Premier League Team of the Week this time around?

Manchester City boast four selections after thrashing neighbours Manchester United 4-1, while Aston Villa's defence is represented after shutting out Norwich City in impressive fashion.

Southampton's titanic effort at Anfield is also rewarded, but who else sneaks in?

GK: Brad Guzan, Aston Villa

There were several goalkeepers hitting the highlight reels this weekend, with Simon Mignolet, Artur Boruc and David Marshall in particular raising some eyebrows.

Splitting the competition was tough, and in the end we opted for Brad Guzan. The American international saved a penalty in the sixth minute of Aston Villa's 1-0 win over Norwich City, then later pulled off an unbelievable save to deny Gary Hooper late on.

Mignolet pulled off the best (triple) save of the weekend, but Guzan kept a clean sheet.

LB: Leighton Baines, Everton

Leighton Baines captured the hearts of the Premier League fanbase once again, firing two free-kicks into the top corners of Jussi Jaaskelainen's net.

The first was bent into the 'keeper's top right-hand corner, the second an even cheekier effort into the opposite side.

He was the focal creative point of the side once again and could have grabbed an assist after firing in a beautiful cross from an unmarked Kevin Mirallas.

CB: Vincent Kompany, Manchester City

Wow, just wow.

Those are the three words that spring to mind when summarising Vincent Kompany's performance in the Manchester derby. He was a pillar of confidence and strength in defence.

Thanks to City's dominance, the Belgian was able to follow Wayne Rooney into deep areas and cover him comprehensively.

He was a major factor in the fourth goal, winning the ball in his own box, breaking loose on the counter and distracting Manchester United's centre-backs to allow Samir Nasri to sweep home unmarked.

CB: Dejan Lovren, Southampton

Dejan Lovren continued his brilliant start to the Premier League season, laughing in the face of doubters who said he wasn't worth the £8 million fee.

He shut down Liverpool's attack for long periods during Southampton's 1-0 win at Anfield and scored the all-important goal via a header from a corner.

He faced all kinds of opponents, be it the guile of Iago Aspas and Daniel Sturridge or the raw pace of Raheem Sterling, and impressed in every area of the game.

RB: Leandro Bacuna, Aston Villa

Another position in which many impressed, and in truth Nathaniel Clyne and Pablo Zabaleta were good value here.

The difference between the three showings was tough to discern, but Zabaleta had an easy outing and Clyne was beaten all ends up in the first half by Victor Moses.

Leandro Bacuna, playing out of position at right-back following an injury to Matthew Lowton, locked up the electric, in-form Nathan Redmond and threw away the key.

Redmond was substituted and the home crowd booed, but it's indicative of the great job the Dutchman did. Anthony Pilkington came on and failed to improve the situation.

CM: Yaya Toure, Manchester City

Yaya Toure was a contender for Man of the Match in the Manchester derby, and his goal just before halftime is actually not a factor in that.

He was physically dominant, penning the entire Manchester United team back into their own third and giving Marouane Fellaini a torrid time.

His fantastic showing ensured the Citizens dominated large chunks of the game, held the ball outside the opponents' box and prevented lots of quick counterattacks.

CM: Victor Wanyama, Southampton

Victor Wanyama has beaten the spectacular Aaron Ramsey to a spot in our prestigious Team of the Week, and believe us when we say it was a tough call.

Ramsey put in another great showing, scored a goal and showed penetration through the middle against Stoke City, but Wanyama was more influential in Southampton's beating of Liverpool at Anfield.

He exposed the Reds' soft underbelly—we're looking at you, Steven Gerrard and Lucas Leiva!—and surged forward at will to cleave open the home side's defence.

Defensively and offensively, he was too powerful for Brendan Rodgers' side.

Mesut Ozil, meet the Emirates Stadium. Emirates Stadium, meet your new saviour.

The German graced his home debut with a trio of assists, firing in slick deliveries throughout the match to ensure his side overcame a resilient Stoke City.

He set up Per Mertesacker and Bacary Sagna for headers, and his early free-kick was parried into Aaron Ramsey's path to finish.

RW: Jesus Navas, Manchester City

Jesus Navas was heralded as a wonderful signing in preseason thanks to his ability to maintain the width of a team and use his pace to counter quickly.

He was instrumental in defeating Manchester United 4-1 for these reasons, opening David Moyes' side up on the right and speeding past Patrice Evra on multiple occasions.

He recorded an assist for Samir Nasri's volley after clipping a cross in and remained a huge factor in City's vertical style of play.

LW: Robbie Brady, Hull City

Hull City have been turning some heads early on this season, and Robbie Brady has been one of the standout performers so far.

He and Loic Remy shined from the left side on the same pitch at St. James' Park, but Brady gets our vote for essentially leading his Tigers to an upset victory over Newcastle.

He bagged a goal from the left side early on, then clipped a beautiful free-kick into the near-post for Ahmed Elmohamady to head home.

CF: Sergio Aguero, Manchester City

Sergio Aguero was unstoppable against Manchester United, volleying in two finishes at critical times in the match.

His first set the tone, taking an Aleksandar Kolarov cross from behind him and hooking a ridiculous finish into the far corner. Later, he stole a yard (or 20) on Marouane Fellaini to poke home his side's third after brilliant work by Alvaro Negredo.

He was fantastic in possession, on the counter and in front of goal.
