Boston Celtics forward Brandon Bass recently took on the challenge of learning how to swim, leading to an awesome photo (via Reddit) of him in the pool with children during a swim class.

According to Bella English of the Boston Globe, Bass is doing it for a good cause. On Friday he and 10 children from the Boys & Girls Club of Boston took a class together.

As English wrote, "Though he is volunteering his time to help children conquer their fear of swimming, Bass has fears of his own. 'I’m nervous, because I don’t know how to float,' he says. 'I can’t tread water.'"

Bass plans to continue taking lessons until he learns how to swim.

The full story from the Boston Globe gives some great details about his past and why he never learned to swim. You can read it here.
