Hanley Ramirez Injury: Updates on Dodgers Star's Ribs, Likely Return

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez, who sustained a fractured rib after getting hit by a pitch earlier in the series, was able to play in Games 3 and 4 of the NLCS against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register passed along comments from Dodgers manager Don Mattingly prior to Game 2 describing the severity of the injury:

Mattingly: Even though Hanley Ramirez is in lineup he's "iffy" and could be game time decision. HBP in ribs has him "little sore" today

Ramirez had X-rays taken on his injury, which came back negative, according to the Dodgers. A later CT scan showed a rib fracture.

Ramirez has been ruled out of Game 6 of the NLCS.
