MSU 29, UM 6 (Final)

Incredibly ineffective.

That was Michigan's offense.

Incredibly effective.

That was Michigan State's defense.

The Spartans got their fifth win in six tries over Michigan on Saturday by way of a 29-6 beating in East Lansing.

Devin Gardner was sacked seven times by the most rabid defense in the country. With Denicos Allen, Max Bullough and Shilique Calhoun leading the way, the redshirt junior never had chance.

The Wolverines rushed for negative-48 yards, their lowest total since 1962 (per ABC).

Spartans quarterback Connor Cook, a first-year starter like Gardner, put his team up 22-6 in the fourth quarter with a five-yard touchdown run.

Michigan corner Raymon Taylor had an interception, as did Michigan State's Darqueze Dennard, who picked one off in the fourth to stall Michigan's last-ditch scoring effort.

Paul Bunyan is back in East Lansing after a one-year stay in Ann Arbor.
