California Golden Bears freshman running back Fabiano Hale was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries following a fight with a teammate last Friday.

Henry K. Lee of the San Francisco Chronicle reports the incident took place at the Simpson Center, which is located near the Golden Bears' home field, Memorial Stadium. Marc DeCoulode of University Police stated it was a one-on-one encounter and they know the suspect.

DeCoulode declined to name the second player involved and was unclear on the circumstances leading up to the incident.

"It was one-on-one," DeCoulode said. He added, "We know who the suspect is."

San Jose Mercury News reporter Jeff Faraudo reported on Wednesday that the incident is still under investigation, but should be completed next week.
