The University of Texas has found a replacement for DeLoss Dodds, who has been the athletic director for the school for the past 32 years.

According to reports from SI.com and OrangeBloods, Steve Patterson, the current Athletic Director at Arizona State University, will take over for Dodds. Patterson replaced Lisa Love as ASU's AD in March of 2012.

It was just last week that Jeff Metcalfe of AZ Central Sports reported that Patterson was not interested in the job. Patterson graduated from UT in 1980 and also received his law degree from the school in 1984.

The race came down to Patterson and West Virginia AD Oliver Luck, who also received his law degree from UT. According to Pete Thamel of SI.com, Patterson became the favorite with his marketing and business experiences.

Patterson is a former president of the IHL Houston Aeros, a former senior vice president of the Houston Texans, a former president of the Portland Trail Blazers and a former general manager of the Houston Rockets.
