Breaking Down Dennis Pitta's Hip Injury

Dennis Pitta is returning to practice for the Baltimore Ravens and may not be far from a return to games. The pass-catching tight end is coming back from a hip injury, but is it more Percy Harvin or Bo Jackson?

In this video, Bleacher Report's Will Carroll explains why Pitta is lucky to be back at this point and why the injury could have been much more serious.

Harvin returned in Week 11 from preseason surgery, while Jackson never returned to football after a fracture of his upper leg forced a complete hip replacement. Pitta's injury falls somewhere in the middle, but the solid work of the Ravens medical staff and surgeons have given the tight end a chance to return this season, which most did not believe possible.
