Former All-Star Pitcher Mark Mulder Attempting MLB Comeback at Age 36

Los Angeles Times reporter Mike DiGiovanna reports that Mulder's comeback has hit a snag:

Mark Mulder's comeback with #Angels is over before it began. The LHP suffered a ruptured left Achilles doing agility drills.

The Angels confirmed the report:

INJURY UPDATE: MRI results on Mark Mulder's ankle reveal a ruptured left Achilles.

#Angels GM Jerry Dipoto on LHP Mark Mulder injury: "I'm crushed for him because I know how hard he worked to get to this point."

Mulder had this to say about his injury:

I can handle this. But seeing my son in tears when he saw me in a boot and crutches and I told him I wasn't going to pitch. That was tough.
