On 4th-and-1 from the New England 24-yard line, the Miami Dolphins decided to play it safe and go for the points to tie the game. However, their field-goal attempt turned into an awesome blooper.

Bleacher Report

Long snapper John Denney snapped the ball even though holder Brandon Fields was looking back at the kicker. The ball hit Fields in the helmet and bounced away from the Dolphins.

The Patriots recovered the fumble and kept the Dolphins off the scoreboard.

Miami was probably fortunate that the snap hit Fields in the helmet, as the ball bounced forward. Had the snap gone past the holder, New England would have gotten much better field position.
