East Carolina 37, Ohio 20—Final

Seeking its first bowl victory in six years, East Carolina pulled away late from Ohio in the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl in St. Petersburg, defeating the Bobcats, 37-20.

After jumping out to an early two-touchdown lead, the Pirates let Ohio back into the game and even trailed at one point in the fourth quarter. But East Carolina overcame some trick plays from the Bobcats and answered with one of its own, as wide receiver Cam Worthy found quarterback Shane Carden to go up by two scores and seal the victory.

The emergence of St. Petersburg's own Daz'mond Patterson and receiver Donte Foster had Ohio combating the high-octane East Carolina offense, as Foster set a bowl record with 160 receiving yards. Following a go-ahead field goal in the fourth quarter, the Bobcats' perfectly executed an onside kick and appeared to have all the momentum.

But East Carolina turned on the jets, scoring the game's final 20 points and stepping up on defense, intercepting Ohio's Tyler Tettleton twice in the final quarter. This was the Bobcats' first bowl loss in three years.
