The biggest fight in women's MMA has come and gone and while Miesha Tate did some good work resisting, but in the end would fall all the same, tapping to a Ronda Rousey armbar in the third round.

It was the longest fight of Rousey's career and quite possibly the most exciting to this point. The champ utilized her world-class Judo to great effect, working Tate over through all three rounds and working for submissions the entire time.

Tate, to her credit, survived a long while and escaped from some very difficult positions but ultimately couldn't hold out forever.

The two come out swinging and Tate looks much more tired than earlier. Rousey clinches her to the cage and starts working punches and works for a takedown.

She sort of gets it, but winds up in an awkward position that puts her in perfect position for her armbar. She extends it, gets it and forces a tap from Tate.

An absolutely excellent fight, and a classic performance by Rousey.
