PSG Prepare Bid for Eden Hazard, Oscar; Mourinho Names Price
Chelsea's Champions League quarter-final opponents Paris Saint-Germain reckon that they will be able to sign two of Chelsea's most promising young stars this summer. According to Jamie Sanderson at The Metro, PSG are readying a bid of £90 million for the pair but would be willing to pay more if necessary.
Jose Mourinho was asked in his Friday press conference whether he found the rumour annoying. Per The Guardian, he had this to say on the matter:
No. It's not irritating. No problem. If there is Financial Fair Play, they don't have money to buy them. If there is no Financial Fair Play and they threw something crazy, £300million for both, I think Chelsea has to think about it.
A round of applause to the man who cuts his own hair.
John Obi Mikel Set to Leave in the Summer?
John Obi Mikel is angling for an early exit from his Stamford Bridge contract, according to Sami Mokbel at the Daily Mail. The midfielder has seen his opportunities limited since Nemanja Matic arrived in January, and there are a handful of clubs who would be interested in signing the 26-year-old.
Diego'll Cost-Ya: Blues Line Up £40 Million Bid for Spain Striker
The Daily Mail's Neil Ashton has reported that Chelsea have moved one step closer to signing Diego Costa in the summer. However, negotiations could be hampered by Atletico Madrid's desire to sign on-loan Blues 'keeper Thibaut Courtois on a permanent basis as part of the deal.
Chelsea to Chase Southampton Star Adam Lallana
Ryan Bertrand Wants First-Team Guarantee on Return to Chelsea
With Cesar Azpilicueta excelling at left-back and the Blues chasing Luke Shaw for the same position, it is likely that Bertrand will be on his way in the summer.
Demba Ba Seeking Summer Move to Italy
Chelsea striker Demba Ba has told RCM, via Sky Sports, that he is expecting to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer. Although Ba would like to stay in the Premier League, a move to Italy would also be welcomed by the Senegal star.
Tottenham Set to Bid for Romelu Lukaku
You may have heard a rumour that Chelsea fans hate Tottenham. The latest story from Matt Law at The Telegraph is unlikely to improve relations between the London clubs, as Spurs look set to bid for on-loan Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku in the summer.
Lukaku went on loan to Everton on transfer deadline day last year after missing the final penalty of Chelsea's UEFA Super Cup defeat to Bayern Munich. He has since made some scathing comments about Jose Mourinho and his parent club, per James Olley at the Evening Standard, giving rise to speculation that he will quit Stamford Bridge.
However, any deal would hinge on the truth behind another rumour that you may have heard: that Chelsea need a striker.
Spurs Set to Beat Chelsea to Sadio Mane Signature
Spurs are looking to overtake Chelsea in their pursuit of Red Bull Leipzig winger Sadio Mane, according to The Metro. The report suggests that the highly-rated 21-year-old would prefer a move to White Hart Lane over Stamford Bridge, where he would struggle to compete with the likes of Eden Hazard for a regular starting spot.
Samuel Eto'o Set for Summer Departure
The Metro have reported that Samuel Eto'o is not planning to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge when his contract expires this summer.
The disparaging comments made by Jose Mourinho about the striker's age have led to a series of jokes at his expense, and in true Eto'o style, he is not happy.
Patrick Bamford to Spend Another Season on Loan
It's no secret that Chelsea have another full squad of players out on loan across the continent, and The Mirror has reported that one youngster's spell away from Stamford Bridge is likely to be extended in the summer.
Striker Patrick Bamford, 20, has been in excellent form for Derby County since joining them in January. However, the Chelsea hierarchy believe that he needs another season to develop before he is ready to join a top-four Premier League club.
Vitesse Arnhem is the most likely destination for Bamford, although there are several Championship clubs who would love to secure his services for the 2014-15 season.
