The talk has began, its time for some college football. Where ever you go college football is the topic everyone is talking about.

From the East coast to the West coast avid football fans are getting their tailgating supplies out and just awaiting the arrival of Sept. 5, 2009!

Most teams are heavily influnced by the first win or loss of the season. If they garner that first win then that can be a big boost going into either conference play or just starting off on the right note.

Its a completely different story if you come in and win the game in front of  your own fans and especially if you demolish that team...

This is what I think the Irish are going to do in their season opener against Nevada and here is why I think this.

The first key will be Jimmy Clausen, if Clausen can come out hot and drive the ball down Nevada's throat then we will be A ok.

Clausen is the key to this Notre Dame offense in '09. Nevada is not know for their very physical defense but i'm sure they will not just lie down for Notre Dame.

Look for Notre Dame to try and establish the run game early and try to lure this defense to sleep. This will then allow the wide—outs and Clausen to hook up for some major yards.

The second key are what I would call the X—factors, Armando Allen and Golden Tate. Golden Tate was the Notre Dame leading receiver last season and gave the Irish a real deep threat.

This is who I will be watching Clausen to hook up with to gain those really long gains late in the game.

Golden Tate and Armando Allen will both be juniors in '09 so they have the potential to make a great impact for the next few years.

Armando Allen was the leading rusher in '08 and will in my opinion get more touches this season. He has proved he can carry quite a load at times. I will say they he will have to show more before I say he can have a break out season.

The third key is going to be Notre Dame's redzone production. In '08 Notre Dame would often find themselves in a great position to score in the redzone. However they would often walk off the field without any points?

It wil be interesting to see if the Irsih can improve this and be ready to score against Nevada.

The fourth and final key will be Charlie Weis himself. Since Mike Haywood left Notre Dame for the head coaching job at Miami of Ohio Weis named himself offensive coordinator.

This is going strictly against what in he said in '08 after stating he was going to mainly concentrated on being the head coach.

It will be interesting to see how the coaching staff and the players respond to the play calling of Charlie Weis.

Overall I look for this to be a easy game for the Irish and I look for Jimmy Clausen to bring the Irish a win in their first game of the season.

This game will set the tone for the '09 season and will allow the team to gain a little more momentum going into Ann Arbor to take on Big Ten power house Michigan.

So what do you think will this give Notre Dame the time to get out the wrinkles before taking on Michigan or do you think this is a game where Notre Dame will dominate Nevada and then go into Ann Arbor and have a melt down?
