Following Didier Drogba's injury against Ferencvaros on Sunday, Goal.com is reporting Jose Mourinho is interested in bringing Loic Remy to Stamford Bridge as cover.

The QPR striker has already seen a transfer to Liverpool fall through this summer and a move to Stamford Bridge would suit all parties—Chelsea would have an extra striker as cover, while Remy would feature for a club in the Champions League.

Any potential deal rests on the outcome of Drogba's injury, of which there has been no official word from the club just yet.

He's waited patiently for the right club all summer since his release from Chelsea and now it seems Samuel Eto'o may well have found it.

The Guardian reports Liverpool are chasing the striker as they look to bolster their options in attack.

And given Eto'o is available on a free transfer, his wage demands shouldn't prove a stumbling block to any deal.

The Cameroon star reportedly earned £7 million for his one season at Chelsea.

It's been an on-off saga for the past couple of weeks, but Christian Atsu finally looks like sealing a loan move from Chelsea to Everton.

The Ghanaian has been top of Roberto Martinez's shopping list after the Toffees signed Lukaku on a permanent transfer from Chelsea last month.

According to Simon Jones of the Daily Mail, the Blues and Atsu have been reassured about the amount of playing time he will get—a factor that had previously seen the deal hit a snag, as reported at the time by David Craddock of Goal.com.

The loan deal is expected to be confirmed on Monday, Aug. 11.

Chelsea seem to have plenty of options in defence this season, but it hasn't stopped rumours circulating that Mourinho will bid up to £30 million for Roma's Mehdi Benatia.

Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard is reporting Mourinho has been unimpressed with the form of Kurt Zouma during pre-season, so he will dip back into the transfer market to shore things up at the back.

Should Chelsea bring Benatia to Stamford Bridge, Zouma could go out on loan for the coming season.

Chelsea already have an embarrassment of riches in attacking midfield, but Jack Wilson of the Daily Star reports Mourinho is ready to go head-to-head with former mentor Louis van Gaal for Fiorentina's Juan Cuadrado.

The Colombian has apparently agreed personal terms to join Manchester United, although the Blues are hoping to hijack the deal.

Mourinho has also allowed Marin (Slide 1) to join Fiorentina on loan, meaning Cuadrado is now free to leave Stadio Artemio Franchi.
