According to the Italian press, Arsenal has made a £13m bid for Roma striker Mirko Vucinic.

Neither club has made any comments, but two days ago the agent of the Roma hot-shot said that no offer has been made. But at some point in the past two days, Arsenal have supposedly made the £13m offer.

The offer is also supposed to include Arsenal's £10m rated striker Nicklas Bendtner to cover Roma's loss of Vucinic, and that may swing the deal in Arsenal's favour.

Whether Arsenal lets Bendtner go is another question because, as of today, Bendtner said he is not interested in a move away from Arsenal, and he's looking forward to the new season.  I don't think Arsenal would have the heart to let him go after Bendtner said he wants to stay.

Roma has rated the Montenegro striker at £20m and is said to be looking to sell one of its main players in order to lower the ever-growing mound of debt its gotten itself in to.

Vucinic has said that if he moves from Roma it would have to be for a top four/Champions League club that has the chance of winning silver wear.

The signing of Vucinic would probably come off as a credit to Arsène Wenger and his ability to draw big names to the Gunners.

Vucinic would be a great replacement for the already departed Adebayor, and the leftover £25m for Manchester City could come in handy to pay for Vucinic.

Arsenal has to make up the goal tally Adebayor scores each season, but I think Mirko would cover that gap. Vucinic's goal average is about one every three games, but if he steps up a gearwhich a move to Arsenal would surely help him dohe may up his season's goal tally.

During the past two seasons Manchester United, Chelsea, and Real Madrid have all shown their interest in the striker.

However, Wenger is interested in many strikers, including Chamakh, Ba, and Real Madrid star Klass Jan Huntellaar. But he has been following the progress of Vucinic for a long time and is a admirer of the Roma star. If the opportunity to sign Vucinic was put in front of Wenger, you would think Mirko would be his No. 1 target.

My opinion

For me, he is one of the best strikers in Italy and would be a great signing for the Gunners. He would fit in right away and would soon be a player that averages 30 goals per season. Roma is a great club, and they have helped make him the player he is today. But I think that a move to Arsenal would be the next step up in his career.

I have been following the progress of Vucinic ever since his Lecce days, and it would be a small dream come true for me if he made his way to North London.

Huntelaar would also be a great signing, but I would be more confident in Vucinic because I have seen him more than Huntelaar. It's a pity both can't be signed, but I have to choose Vucinic because if Arsenal missed out on him, I would be gutted.

What do the Arsenal fans think of this proposed move for Vucinic?

Would they rather a move for Huntelaar?
