Lately, Jamie McMurray has been surrounded by heated controversy regarding his future at Roush Fenway Racing. Today, an announcement was made regarding McMurray's future. Next season, McMurray will drive for Robert Yates. Crown Royal will not be McMurray's sponsor because Crown Royal will be sponsoring Matt Kenseth next season.

Jamie McMurray is leaving Roush Fenway Racing after this season because Jack Roush needs to go down to four teams. However, should McMurray have been the driver to leave Roush Fenway Racing? Jack Roush had to pick between McMurray and David Regan.

I would like to believe that Jamie McMurray was the wrong driver to leave Roush Fenway Racing. However, I believe that Jack Roush made the right choice in cutting McMurray. David Regan is not as high in the points as McMurray, but Regan has not been racing as long as McMurray.

Jamie McMurray has been with Jack Roush for a few years, and only has two career wins, one of which was with Jack Roush. David Regan has not scored any wins, however, he is only in his second year with Roush.

As time goes by, David Regan will be a better driver. Jamie McMurray's opportunity to be a better driver in the Roush stable has ended. Jack Roush has high expectations for his drivers. Jamie McMurray has not been doing as well as his teammates. I believe that David Ragan will someday get into the chase.
