With going to Earnhardt Ganassi racing not panning out thus far there are few options for Jamie McMurray entering the 2010 season.

Well few great options.  It is possible he could be the driver of the 96 car as Bobby Labonte is likely heading to TRG where they will be backed by Dodge and supported by Penske.  There is the 19 car as former Yates employees say they would prefer him over Elliott Sadler, even a possible 2nd entry for TRG as Dodge would like them to have 2 cars.

One option that seems to be decent is however RCR.

With the 07 car losing it's sponsorship Casey Mears's opiton for 2010 hasn't been picked up, it is rumor that his crew chief Todd Berrier will go and become Jeff Burton's new crew chief in 2010 making it all but certain that he more than likely won't be at RCR in 2010.

Now the 07 must get sponsorship or they might not be in the cup series in 2010.

McMurray was courted by Richard Childress racing to become the driver of the 33 general mills car but his buyout from Roush was too great for RC and he settled for Mears.

Now that it looks like Casey Mears will not be resigned for 2010 this is a good opportunity for Jamie McMurray to get in the 07 car.

Jamie did comment on friday afternoon that he is "confident" in what he is doing next year and has 2 options and is getting closer to announcing his plans.  Perhaps the 07 car is an option.
