B/R's Cameon Shiflett Needs Our Prayers

Gray GhostSenior Writer IOctober 20, 2009

Dear B/R Friends,

One of B/R's best needs our prayers right now.

Cameon Shiflett was in a very bad car accident this past weekend and is in ICU. She was coming home from a band competition on Saturday night and was hit by a drunk driver.

The report given to me from someone who has been at the hospital with her seems to indicate that they think she is going to be OK, but that her condition is obviously serious. She has some broken ribs and is pretty bruised up. I will try and keep everyone updated as best I can.

Crossing paths with Cameon has been one of the best things about my involvement here on B/R. Though still in high school, she has a depth of character that has earned her the respect of people many years her senior.

She represents the best of her generation. Her parents must be extremely proud of her. Her courage and conviction is evident in her writing, as is her love for the Alabama Crimson Tide. She is known around these parts as the "Bama Chick."

There are a lot of great young writers here on B/R, and Cameon is among the best of the best. I am proud to call her my friend, and my family sends our love and prayers to her. Please join me in praying for a full and speedy recovery.
