Western Michigan Football

The Western Michigan Broncos will take on the Northern Illinois Huskies Saturday in DeKalb, IL.

The Broncos haven't won in Husky Stadium since 1999.

After a strong performance from sophomore quarterback Tim Hiller and junior wide receiver Jamarko Simmons, both of whom broke career records, the Broncos lost on a last second touchdown by Akron last Saturday night in Kalamazoo.

The Huskies had a stellar performance from sophomore running back Justin Anderson, but took the loss against Temple on a game-winning 39 yard field goal.

The two teams match up unevenly, as the Broncos (2-4, 1-1 MAC) look to take a big conference win from the Huskies (1-5, 0-3 MAC).

I think this ultimately will come down to a battle of the running games.

The Huskies have a solid back in Anderson and the Broncos have the two-headed monster in Mark Bonds and Brandon West. Bonds won the MAC West Player of Week for his performance in the win over Toledo in the Glass Bowl.

I think, in the end, the Broncos will come out on top.

Final Score: Broncos 35, Huskies, 28
