The Indian Premier League not only produced some breath-taking cricket, but also proved the bench strength of the Indian National Team. With the selection of Yusuf Pathan and Pragyan Ojha for the Bangladesh Tri-Series after their IPL performances, Manpreet Gony has now got the chance to represent his nation after he was called-up to replace S.Sreesanth, who is suffering from a side strain.
Gony, who made his List-A debut only three-months ago was in prolific form in the IPL, spearheading the Chennai Super Kings' bowling attack and taking seventeen wickets in the process.

That has now brought him into the international fold, with established players like Munaf Patel overlooked.
Gony told PTI after his call-up, "It is like a dream come true. It was always my dream to play for my country. When I got the call from a BCCI official today informing about my selection in the team for the tri-series, my joy knew no bounds."
The twenty-four year old added, "The IPL has given me great exposure. You rarely get a chance to bowl to so many world class batsmen and this experience has made me a better bowler. (Chennai Super Kings) coach Kepler Wessels made a slight adjustment to my action, helped me hit the deck harder and bowl at right areas."
"But, I will look to have a fresh start when I bowl in the tri-series, where I will also get opportunity to bowl a longer spell which should help me show my abilities."
We sure hope that Manpreet Gony performs to the best of his abilities if he does get the chance to play in the starting eleven in the tri-series.
