There have been a number of players who have been rumored to be on their way to Fenerbahce.

In desperate need of an attacking forward/striker, Fenerbahce have been linked with high-profile players such as Luca Toni, Luis Fabiano, and Kris Boyd.

However, no one has been linked and rumored to Kadikoy more than AC Milan striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

According to recent reports out of Milliyet and Haberturk, Huntelaar is on a short list of about five players that Fenerbahce are interested in transferring.

Last week Huntelaar told the Italian press that he was contemplating a transfer out of AC Milan because he wanted to play somewhere else where he feels he can make an impact (i.e. starting 11) and where his excellent skills and talent can be recognized by the Dutch national team.

Huntelaar was originally transferred to Milan for an estimated 15 million euros, so if Fenerbahce are truly interested in his services, he certainly won't come cheap.

You might be asking, what makes this rumor different from the others? The fact of the matter is Huntelaar went out of his way to ask Pierre van Hooijdonk (former Fenerbahce player) and Bert van Marwijk (present Dutch national team manager) about a possible transfer to Fenerbahce, and both of them recommended a move to Kadikoy.

I don't want to get too cocky, but as it stands right now, Fenerbahce is not too far from making the biggest transfer in Turkcell Super Lig history.
