Canada Ends Preliminary Round in 2010 World Junior Hockey Championships

Francois GendronSenior Writer IDecember 31, 2009

The preliminary round of the 2010 World Junior Hockey Championships will end today for Canada, as they face USA this afternoon.

Canada did not encounter any problem during their first three matches. First, they defeated Latvia by the score of 16-0 before shutting down Switzerland 6-0. Slovakia did manage to score a couple of goals but fell by the score of 8-2.

With three wins in three games for Canada and USA, first place of the preliminary round will be at stake. A first place finish means a spot in the semifinal round.

We can expect a very disputed match between those two teams.
