Former Australian Open runner up will take on Germany's Tommy Haas in the Semi Finals of the Australian Open. Tsonga reached the final back in 2008, when he beat the British Number 1 Andy Murray, in 4 sets, and the World Number 2 Rafael Nadal in the Semi Finals in straight sets however the Frenchman then lost the title match to a rampant Novak Djokovic in 4 sets. Tsonga also reached the Quarter Finals in Australia last year, but lost to the in form Fernando Verdasco in 4 sets. Haas, himself a veteran of the tour, has reached the Australian Open Semi Finals on 3 previous occasions, losing 2 of them to the world number 1 Roger Federer.
