Marcos Baghdatis Looks To Make an Impact In Indian Wells
March 9, 2010
Marcos Baghdatisof Cyprus will be looking to make an impact at the Masters 1000 event in Indian Wells, California this week. Baghdatis started the year in superb fashion by winning the title in Sydney, however the Cypriot had to retire injured in the Australian Open. Baghdatis best result in a Grand Slam came at the Australian Open back in 2006 when he reached the final before losing to the World Number 1 Roger Federer in 4 sets. Later that year Marcos Baghdatis reached the Semi Finals at Wimbledon but he was beaten in straight sets by Rafael Nadal. Despite those encouraging performances from Baghadtis in 2006, the Cypriot has not featured in the later stages of the majors since then. If Baghdatis can find his best form then he has a shot at going deep in this week’s Masters event in Indian Wells, and co that could well kick start his career.
