Jake Shields defeated MMA legend Dan Henderson to retain the Strikeforce middleweight championship. However his victory was overshadowed by a post-fight brawl that erupted on national television.

Following the unanimous decision announcement, Jake Shields interview was interrupted by Jason “Mayhem” Miller. Shields and lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez reacted by shoving Miller, which ignited the melee.

Shields’ teammates, Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz, Nate Diaz, and others from the Gracie camp participated in the disgusting scene which caused CBS to cut to commercial.

This isn’t the first time Jason Miller has been involved in a post-fight scuffle. After a victory over Ronald Jhun at Super Brawl 37, Mark Moreno punched “Mayhem” on the back of the head, causing a riot.

Jason Miller made his fame in a bloody battle with Georges St. Pierre in 2005.

Later in 2005, Miller would defeat Moreno at Super Brawl-Icon event.

Miller gets a lot of exposure through media outlets. Miller is the host for the MTV reality series Bully Beatdown . He is a regular on the Jason Ellis Sirius Radio show. “Mayhem” also writes articles for Fight! Magazine .

Other Championship Bouts:

Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal put Gegard Mousasi on his back for the majority of the five rounds. “King Mo” was heavily booed by the Nashville crowd after being crowned the new light heavyweight champion.

Gilbert Melendez was dominant in his decision victory over DREAM lightweight champion Shinya Aoki. “El Nino” tagged the submission expert from the top position. He easily handled Aoki during the stand-up exchanges.

Melendez could make a good argument for being the best lightweight in the world with the recent loss of BJ Penn to Frankie Edgar.
