Scunthorpe United Star Paul Hayes "Sorry" For Contract Comments
April 24, 2010
Scunthorpe United striker Paul Hayes has apologized to the club's board of directors over comments he made during a radio interview earlier in the week.
The 26-year-old, a key figure in the Iron's Championship survival, accused the club of being too slow to offer him a new contract, sparking speculation that he would be on his way out of Glanford Park this summer.
But vice-chairman Rex Garton told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "Paul has rung me to unreservedly withdraw the comments that he made. We as a board have accepted that."
