Could AJ Styles Be a WWE Superstar?

Allan Lloyd Jones, better known as AJ Styles has been wrestling since 1999. He is recognized for his high flying, daredevil style of wrestling. He has been in the ring with some of the top indy and well established wrestlers all over the world. Winning every title in TNA on more than one occasion, winning champions in ROH, and  wrestling a 5 star match against Samoe Joe and Christopher Daniels. This made me think, if this man, who stated on his dvd that he wasn't interested in becoming a professional wrestler, is able to accomplish these things, could he be a star in the WWE?

He was offered a developmental contract in 2002 after wrestling a few matches on WWF Jakked. The deal was for 500.00 dollars per week, but he turned it down because he would've had to move to Ohio and he didn't want to interrupt his wife's college education. This speaks volumes of the man to turn down a deal with the biggest wrestling company in the world for his wife.

Samoa Joe has said that Styles is very strong for man his size. Styles is also very athletic and quick, which has made for some great matches that he has been involved in. The first time I saw him wrestle was on a dvd to crown the first X-Division Champion in TNA. It was a four way that featured Styles, Low Ki a.k.a Kaval, Jerry Lynn and Psicosis. The match was back and forth and it was amazing. The next time I saw him was at a live event for ROH in Philadelphia. He wrestled Matt Sydal a.k.a Evan Bourne in one of the most incredible display of aerial wrestling that I had ever saw.

Right now, Styles is in TNA trying to be "Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Needless to say, he is no Ric Flair. But the one knock on Styles was that he wasn't that good on the mic. Since being with Flair, his mic skills have inproved tremendously, which would help him get over in the WWE along with his talent and wrestling skills.

WWE as of late has been pushing the younger, smaller talent like Evan Bourne and Rey Mysterio is the World champion. Kaval is ranked # 1 on this season of NXT and he is by far the smallest guy on the show. And with the success that Daniel Bryan was able to garner in his brief stint in the WWE, I think that AJ Styles would be a perfect fit in the WWE and would be a star. Mid card at first and maybe work his way up to the main event seen.

I would like to see him in the WWE because he, like many other TNA stars, are not being utilized correctly due to horrible booking and bad story telling. If and when Styles turns face again it will be a great thing and he may go back to producing incredible matches like he did against Kurt Angle. Styles name is mentioned quite often when the subject of "dream matches" is brought up.

AJ Styles is a great talent and one day, I hope that he is able to sign with the WWE before he is unable to be the man that he was nicknamed; "The Phenomenal One!" He has accomplished so much in wrestling that wrestling in the WWE would cement his legacy as an all time great in the wrestling business.
