As most know, I have stated since January that it is likely that Auburn would be ranked in the preseason polls between 15 and 25. Today the Coaches Poll was released and Auburn was number 23.

There were six SEC teams in the top 25 and Auburn plays four of them. There were also four more teams on the Auburn schedule that got votes in the poll. With eight teams on the schedule that were either ranked in the coaches preseason top 25 or got votes, Auburn has a schedule for success.

How did Auburn’s opponents fare in the 2010 preseason Coaches Poll?

September 9—Auburn plays Mississippi State that got one vote.

September 18—Auburn plays Clemson that got 44 votes.

September 25—Auburn plays South Carolina that got 38 votes.

November 16—Auburn plays Arkansas ranked 19 with 438 votes.

November 23—Auburn plays LSU ranked 16 with 476 votes.

November 30—Auburn plays Mississippi that got 48 votes.

November 13—Auburn plays Georgia ranked 21 with 312 votes.

November 26—Auburn plays Alabama ranked First with 1,469 votes.

With only four opponents that were not considered for ranking by the coaches this year, the Auburn schedule is set up for success if the Tigers come out strong for the season.
