Right now, I am watching my favorite golfer, Phil Mickelson, collapse at TPC Boston. Mickelson has driven beautifully for the majority of the day, and unless an eagle at 18, Mickelson will finish behind Tiger Woods, which is remarkable. Mickelson needs a new putter first off. Winning the Masters has to give him enough bank for a new putter. The Odyssey White Hot XG is his current putter, and the shaft hooks right. Mickelson has missed all putts right. I know, he may like the feel, but I think a mallet putter, like the Odyssey White Hot Sabertooth, would control speed and hook on his putts. Not to mention staying loyal to the brand. The next problem are his Iron shots, which have not landed that bad, but still could improve a bit. Rather than product change, I think standing closer to the ball on irons would not be so wild for Phil. These are just my quick observations and please comment.
