WNBA Finals: Seattle Storm Hold On Against Atlanta Dream to Take a 2-0 Lead

Dominica Broom@_ALLDEE_Correspondent ISeptember 15, 2010

SEATTLE -- League MVP Lauren Jackson scored 26 points with Swin Cash adding 19, en route to the Storm's second win in the series. They now lead 2-0 over the Dream, only one game away from winning another championship. However, they must now leave their home court and  pull off a win now in Atlanta.

Iziane Castro Marques tried her best for Atlanta, with 21 points, before fouling out near the very end of the game. Angel McCoughtry, seven of 23 tonight, finished also with 21 points, hitting an important three at the end of the game to try to keep the Dream in the game.

The series resumes Thursday on ESPN2 at 8/7c.

In other news, I would like to stop and congratulate the Atlanta Dream for even making it this far. Founded in 2007, they already are trying for a shot at the championship by being in the Finals. Seattle, on the other hand, founded in 2000 has won one championship (2004) and has a known presence on the play-off radar. You could say, the battle is between a young rookie and an experienced veteran (and leading the Storm happens to be two experienced veterans, in Bird and Lauren Jackson).
