On July 15th, former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson was involved in multiple hit and runs before being arrested by Costa Mesa police.
Jackson has been charged with one felony count of evading while driving recklessly, one felony count of evading a peace officer and driving against traffic, three misdemeanor counts of hit and run with property damage, and one misdemeanor count of reckless driving.
According to the Associated Press Jackson's arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 28. Deputy District Attorney Keith Bogardus will request $25,000 bail for the fighter.

One charge that was not filed against Jackson was perhaps the most damaging implication of the accident involving Holly Griggs a passenger in one of the cars that Jackson sideswiped. Griggs was 16 weeks pregnant with a boy when she miscarried two weeks after the incident. Per the District Attorney, "a subsequent investigation of the miscarriage did not implicate Jackson."
Jackson underwent a psychological evaluation and was released. By his own account Jackson has once again begun training and is under the watchful eye of UFC president Dana White, "I got Dana over my back all the time. “Did you eat? Did you sleep? Drink your water?' It's like I'm two years old, but it's all good."
If convicted, Jackson's charges could earn him up to three years in prison.

Well, I suppose someone has to. The media and world outside MMA has pretty much already hung him out to dry.

I am under the impression he will get off with probation and community service or house arrest or something

Worst case wuld be if he can not leave the state while on probation. I am glad that there were no grounds for chargs in the miscarriage--it seemed very suspicious to me when the couple was threatening a civil suit. It made me want to read all my maternity books to read up on fluid loss during pregnancy. With a "first" pregnancy at the agof 38 the chances for birth defects would be higher. Being in a 2007 Cadillac Escallade surely there would have been good airbag protection. If she was wearing a seat belt and didn't ram into the steering wheel, it doesn't seem like much damage would be done to the fetus. I am so glad they looked into the medical records. I am sure the public was more upset by the death of the fetus than any other aspcts of his "rampage."

So seeing that a unborn child died maybe not as a result of what Jackson did it makes his crime O.K.?
The guy is flat out mentally unstable. How many times has he flown off the handle that we know of? How many more times has it not been reported? I would worry about getting the guy mental help more than making sure he ate and had water as Dana did. The last thing on anyone's mind imo should be when he is allowed to fight again. If he is convicted of a felony he should spend time in a jail in the mental ward to continue getting help with his mental disorder. If it were anyone but a famous person they would be sitting in jail for a while. Sorry I have no sympathy for someone who commits a crime such as this.

Ron, Do you remember anything about hos religious sects or foreign countries use brain washing techniques of sleep deprivation and food deprivation. It can cause hallucinations that are often confused with religious phenomena. What person would not want to belive that God was favoring them with a private miracle? I have seen many people who were experiencing hallucinations or dellirium, and it is not an easy thing to observe or explain because pure logic and reason will not explain the why or how of the situation. Insanity leas in general do not fly with me, but seeing a person who is trapped in a dellusional state is another matter entirely. If you have ever read about a bad trip on acid--this would be an equivalent, and under these circumstances I have seen patients attempt self castration, self mutilation, and suicide. Without outside intervention they will die. I do believe that Rampage was in an altered state of reality and it is a shame he had keys and was driving. Of course on the other hand, if he had been alone he could have injured him self very badly. This incident would only have gotten worse without intervention, so it might have saved his life. It has been legally determined that the death of the fetus--not yet viable, so not a "baby" was NOT related to the accident.
