I remember a Valentine's weekend with my fiance' in Boston. That weekend, I heard how Alex Rodriguez was traded to the Yankees, even though the Red Sox had been courting him since season's end. At the time, it was the happiest any Yankee fan could be, but that is when the curse started to become reversed.
I say this, because since his arrival, the Yankee have done, nothing. Sure they made the play-offs every year, but found new and exciting ways not to make it back to the series. The press about his off the field anticas have been nothing short of theatrical. No matter what anyone says, they are a distraction to his team mates.
- B/R Ticket Guide
For the Yankees to make it back to their excellence of the late 90's, they need to get back hungry players, not expensive ones. Even Derek Jeter seems worn down from constantly carrying the weight of the history on his shoulders. His deflector, Joe Torre, is not there to protect him or his team mates either, adding to their burden.
So, I make my first article short but sweet by ending with this;

Career RBI's - 1583
Career BA = .306
