Deron Williams has been highly underrated ever since he got to the league. He has yet to be an all-star, but he is easily the best player on the Utah Jazz.

It is very sad that two other Jazz players during his time with the team have been all-stars before him. Carlos Boozer and Mehmet Okur have no right to receive this honor ahead of Deron, especially Okur.

Deron Williams is a player who gets all of his shots and he gets them to the offense. He is also the true leader of the Utah Jazz, and the heart and soul of the team.

Deron has performed amazingly in his two playoff runs. He torched the Rockets two years in a row. Alston was doing a good job defending him, but Deron was just way too good.

Williams also had tremendous playoff series against the Warriors and the Spurs in the 2007 playoffs. His play was fantastic, so you can blame his teammates (besides Boozer) for losing to the Spurs in '07.

Deron is arguably the best point guard of the league. He always seems to give Chris Paul fits when they play each other. In fact, Williams probably played better for the Redeem Team than Chris Paul did.

Deron also has all the tools to be an even greater Jason Kidd. He can shoot, make plays, play defense, score at will, anything really. He is the future for the Jazz and for young point guards in the league.

Although Deron is extremely underrated and under-hyped, this could easily change in the coming years. He just might lead the Jazz to the NBA Finals or even win it soon.

  1. Deron will be an all-star this season, no questions about it. Sending Brandon Roy to the all-star game in his place last season was a slap to the face and there's no way he's going to let that happen again.

  2. The Brandon Roy pick was about marketability and league politics. Its no secret that Williams is the real deal. Even the Paul homers have admitted that Williams is as good.
