Ever seen a green basketball? Neither have I. However, I do love when interests of mine collide, especially for the better.
In an environmentally friendly maneuver, Steve Nash convinced the Phoenix Suns to use solar power to help keep the lights on in the US Airways Center.
Nash should be cheered for the effort and is a great role model to not only kids, but also their parents, who should be speaking to their own employers about adding solar power to their buildings.
- B/R Ticket Guide
According to the Arizona Republic, over 1,100 panels placed on the roof of the parking garage will help offset the power for what would amount to over 26 home games each season. The system will be operational next year and will offset more than 440,000 pounds of CO2 each year.
The move is not the first by an NBA team (the Lakers announced they will also be putting more than 1,700 panels on the roof of the Staples Center), but it is important nonetheless. And what better team than the Suns to lead the charge on this issue?
While the Suns formed a green committee last year, the final push came from Steve Nash, who apparently is also installing solar panels on the roof of his home.

Steve Nash looks so concerned about global warming in this picture.

It's laughable to think that young basketball players should look up too Steve Nash because he got the Suns organization to power their facility with solar power. Let's take a look at what Nash is all about. He's about getting the Suns points on the board and that's it. It's a sad day for sports when young kids playing basketball look up to Steve Nash for his offensive abilities instead of his all around abilities. Oh wait I forgot Nash doesn't have any all around abilities except for offensively. Nash is the worst point guard in the league when it comes to defense. He constantly allows mediocre players to have career games and he allows the superstar point guards too make him look like a mediocre player. I'm sorry, but who cares about the solar power when you don't have a point guard who knows the meaning of the word defense.

I want you to name me every point guard who you think is better than Steve Nash. Not offensively, not defensively, just as a point guard. I'm curious.

Baron Davis, Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Andre Miller, Mike Bibby, Jason Kidd, Jose Calderon, Chauncey Billups, Tony Parker, Ramon Sessions, and as soon as Monta Ellis is healthy..........

Wow, I cant take anything you say serious anymore. You obviously have no clue about basketball. I understand taking a hard line against Steve Nash but come on buddy. Ramon Sessions? Mike Bibby? I know you say Steve Nash doesn't play defense but 90% of the players you mentioned dont as well. The Suns also do this thing called winning games and would be nowhere but lottery bound without Nash.

You could put any point guard in the league on the Suns and they could average over 10 assists. It doesn't take rocket science to figure out what the Suns liked to do under Mike D'Antoni and that is get up and down the court before the defense got set. If you put the Suns in slow down mode they have problems once of the reasons why Nash lead the lead in turnovers last year.
Sessions barely played last year until the end of the season and he showed what he could do by averaging 11.5 points per game, 11.3 assists per game, 3.2 turnovers per game, 1.5 steals in his last 10 games. Those are way better numbers then Nash put up in his first four years in the NBA.
Mike Bibby isn't a pansy like Nash. He wouldn't have flopped around like a fish out of water after taking a little bump from Robert Horry. Bibby also lead the Kings to some exciting playoff series and if it wasn't for Robert Horry hitting a 3 they would have gone even farther. He even lead the Hawks to the playoffs it doesn't really matter how many wins the team has it matters if the team gets there and the Hawks gave the Celtics a run for their money.
