Trivial Facts and Statistics All About... Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

Months ago on Bleacher Report, I decided to make a six piece article series all about facts, trivia, statistics and "Did you knows?"

Well, this is a one time return of the series as I did lots of research and learned things I never knew about one of the most controversial men currently in the business.

In the series, I write articles of this nature about stars like John Cena, Steve Austin, Chris Benoit, Shawn Mchaels, Hulk Hogan, Randy Orton and The Undertaker.

So let's begin.

Most of people don't know Dwayne Douglas Johnson but everyone knows The Rock.

Yes, he is the best professional wrestling hero in the wrestling history.

A stylish and simple person and he is the People's Champion. Everyone watch World Wrestling Federation (WWF) or World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) mostly for one wrestler.

He is the symbol of Entertainment in the wrestling history. He is our wrestling champion Rocky Maivia simply The Rock.

Did you know:

-Johnson was a college football player and, in 1991, he was part of the University of Miami's national championship team. He later played for the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League, but was cut two months into the season. This led to his decision to become a professional wrestler like his grandfather, Peter Maivia, and his father, Rocky Johnson. He gained mainstream fame as a wrestler in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), originally known as the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), from 1996 to 2004.

-The Rock was the very first third generation WWE Superstar in the history of the company.

-Johnson published his autobiography, The Rock Says..., in 1999, with Joe Layden.

-The Rock has stared in over 20 films, including The Scorpion King and Be Cool.

-Even though his movies "The Rundown" earned him a cool $12,500,000., and in "Walking Tall", his pay was $15,000,000, the $5.5 million he got for The Scorpion King was a record. According to the Slam Sports website, "WWF star the Rock (earned) the highest salary ever paid to an actor in a debut starring role."

-The Rock was born on the 2nd of May 1972. Second of May 1972 also seen the birth of legendary soccer star, David Beckham, former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis and daughter of the legendary Hulk Hogan, Brooke!

-The Rock faced Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 18, the  match dubbed "Icon vs. Icon".

-When you type "The Rock" into Google Images over 475,000 results show up! That is more results than pro wrestling legends Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, Ric Flair, Rey Mysterio, Sting, Mick Foley, Lex Luger and Randy Savage.

-Although Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson stills owns the rights to his wrestling name, he prefers not to use it. He told Entertainment Magazine (October 2006): "I no longer am a wrestler, I am now pursuing a future as an actor and someday as a director.

-Dwayne Johnson met Dany Garcia while they were attending the University of Miami. They married in 1997, had daughter Simone Alexandra in 2001, and divorced in 2008. Johnson and Garcia will share custody of their daughter. He's scheduled to pay $22,000. a month in child support. He also pays $5,000 a month for Simone's education.

-Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson also became an author with his 2000 book, The Rock Says (HarperEntertainment). It hit #1 on the New York Times Bestseller List.

-"The Dwayne Johnson Rock Foundation" was started in 2006. "Our mission is to educate, empower and motivate children worldwide through health education and physical fitness," according to the foundation's website.

-He has a wax figure likeness at the famed Madame Tussaud's museum.

-Michael Clarke Duncan, an actor best known for his breakout role as John Coffey in The Green Mile, is one of Dwayne's closest friends.
