Absolutely terrible news coming out of the world of hockey this evening, as Oli-Matias Markkanen, the four-year-old son of former Oilers goalie Jussi Markkanen, has died after tragically falling out of a window of an apartment in Moscow.
Markkanen had just recently brought his family over to Russia, where they were trying to start a new life together. Markkanen has signed with the Kontinental Hockey League.

It is believed the window in which the tragic accident occured was around three stories high.
As a father myself of a three-year-old boy, I can't even wrap my head around what Jussi and his family must be thinking right now.
This is truly tragic news, and it is a time where the NHL and its fans needs to throw away their face paint and different coloured jerseys and band together, as one, to support the former NHL goaltender.
My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to Jussi and his family.

I just heard about it and saw the comments and interviews on TSN .. it is really sad for the family. they just moved there a while ago apparently.
