It is about time the Chicago Fire showed us what they are capable of.
After losing three of their last four games, the firm grip Chicago had on a playoff spot was becoming much more precarious. But that all changed on Thursday night when the Fire took it to the LA Galaxy, winning 3-1.
The Fire jumped out to an early lead thanks to an unrelenting play from Chris Rolfe and shoddy defense from the Galaxy. Chicago's defense could not hold the lead, though, as Eddie Lewis snuck inside Rolfe and deflected a cross past Jon Busch.

The momentum looked to have shifted to the side of LA, that is until Cuauhtemoc Blanco made a move around LA keeper Josh Wicks. The Fire did not stop there as Rolfe received a long through-ball and walked in on goal and put one past Wicks.
The Fire regained a little of their swagger from earlier in the season and restored a little of my faith in the team that I think has the talent to win the MLS Cup.
It will be interesting to see what happens when the league leading Columbus Crew come to town in two weeks.
It should be a great final month as teams jokey for position.

Good recap, Dakota. I picked Chicago to be MLS' best team in the second half, and they are definitely my favorites to win the MLS Cup, especially after last night's comprehensive victory.
It's funny, I hated Blanco during World Cup 2002, but now I can't get enough of him!
