Red Bulls Set to Play in 2008 Carolina Challenge Cup

The New York Red Bulls announced on Jan. 8, 2008 that they would be playing in the fifth Annual Carolina Challenge Cup, a preseason tournament that pits four US teams in competition for the prize.

The '08 version of the cup will feature the Red Bulls, Toronto FC, the return of the San Jose Earthquakes, and USL side Charleston Battery. The tournament is used as a means of getting into form for the upcoming season and will be played from March 15-22. It is a round-robin style tournament and the matches will be played on three different days.

The schedule is as follows:

Saturday 15-Mar San Jose vs Toronto 6:00 PM
Saturday 15-Mar New York vs Charleston 8:15 PM

Wednesday 19-Mar New York vs Toronto 6:00 PM
Wednesday 19-Mar San Jose vs Charleston 8:15 PM

Saturday 22-Mar Toronto vs Charleston 6:00 PM
Saturday 22-Mar San Jose vs New York 8:15 PM

All games are played at Blackbaud Stadium in South Carolina.
