So here it is, the ALCS. No one would have thought before the season it would come down to the Tampa Bay (formerly known as "Devil") Rays againt the Boston Red Sox. No one would have even thought that Manny Ramirez would be wearing Dodger blue and playing the Phillies in the NLCS. When spring training began, I would have never expected either of these scenarios.
Ultimately, what looks about to happen is a World Series featuring Manny's Dodgers vs. the Manny-less Boston Red Sox.
Imagine Manny Ramirez in the world series at Fenway park with Dodger blue on. How will the Fenway faithful react? Will Ramirez receive a ovation for helping the 2004 Red Sox win their first World Series in 86 years, then repeating the job in 2007? Or will he be booed by the Boston fans because of his antics in his final year playing for Red Sox Nation?

The right thing to do would be give him a round of applause for his first at-bat out of respect, then every other at-bat he has boo the living hell out of him!
Imagine, after years of battling Joe Torre while he wore the pin stripes, he is now battling his old foes while wearing the Dodgers uniform. Personally, I am still baffled as to why the Yanks let Torre leave; he's a great manager who won with not-so-great talent in New York for the last few years.
The reunion doesn't stop there, however. Old friend Nomar Garciaparra would be back in Boston, but let's face it, the guy can't even walk up the stairs without injuring himself. The greatest move Sox GM Theo Epstein made was trading "Nomah." His production has dropped since. I will always remember seeing Nomar's steroid-esque body on the cover of Sports Illustrated. It was clear the guy was juicing, and look what happened—his body started to crumble.
A Dodgers vs. Red Sox World Series is a dream for a lot of baseball fans, as both franchises are loaded with history. Each park has history and would set a great stage for the October Classic, with a lot of subplots.
How interesting would it be that first the Celtics beat LA for the NBA championship and then the Red Sox beat the Dodgers for a World Series? Let's face it, we need a new rivalry—the Yankees aren't cutting it anymore for us Boston fans.
