According to Peter Schmuck of the Baltimore Sun, the Orioles have set a date for a fan "rally" on Nov. 12, to which all season-ticket holders are invited. According to Schmuck, the rally is to introduce the team's new uniforms.
Hmmm...
Schmuck also claims he's heard the road version of the uniform will feature the old Baltimore script from the Brooks Robinson days, known to many as the "Golden Days." There is no word on the cap and its image of the famous cartoon bird that the Orioles wore to numerous division championships.

Keeping in mind the success of teams that have ditched their old, stale uniforms for hip, new ones, this can only help the Birds.
The Rays ditched half of their name and their old jerseys this year for simpler, more appealing uniforms. Voila! They conquered a league championship.
Before the Rays, the Broncos, who ditched their Bronco Orange Crush for a more hip Bronco Navy Blue, proceeded to start the season 6-0, ending in the team's first Super Bowl victory.
While I'd rather see the Orioles hold a rally to introduce Mark Teixeira and not articles of clothing, I'll take what I can get. Maybe it will do for us what it did for Tampa. And, just maybe, it will be the final nudge that good old Mark needs to come home to Baltimore.

It can't hurt. The Phillies moved away from the 70s-era baby blue and maroon, and won the NLCS in 1993, and then introduced that new day-game/antique white (sans pin stripes) this year.
