Houston Astros Ticket Prices Will Remain The Same For Astros Fans in 2009

According to Alyson Footer of Astros.com/MLB.com the prices for Astros games next season will remain as they were in the 2008 season.

What does this mean for Astros fans?  It could mean a few things.

People who attend the games at minute maid can go certain nights and get decent seats to a game for pretty cheap. (bring your coke cans!)  However, they are often confronted with outrageous beer prices, (Over seven dollars...are you kidding Drayton?) over priced concessions, and expensive merchandise.  I personally made a pact with my wallet not buy a beer at a stros game unless it's before the game at Larry's Big Bamboo. (gotta love those pre-first pitch specials.)  So can fans expect higher concession/beer/merchandise prices? Maybe. But that is the least of their worries.

It could mean that Drayton McLane is going to spend less money on his ball club.  Drayton thinks he is doing the fans a favor by keeping the ticket prices the same, which isn't a bad thing.  But he may decide he isn't going to be making as much money this season and decide signing Ben Sheets or Derick Lowe isn't in the clubs best interest.

Let's hope this isn't the case.  Either way, ticket packages go on sale Thursday.  So you guys go get your tickets and hope that you aren't the only ones opening up their wallets this season.

  1. Good news to hear that an owner isn't raising ticket prices. Whens the last time you've ever heard that?

Informative, but work on the formatting Jason.

    Keep up the good work!
