New York Yankees SS Derek Jeter just collected the 3,000th hit of his career.

Jeter came into Saturday’s game needing just two hits to reach 3,000 and he singled through the hole between short and third in the first and homered off of David Price in the third to reach the milestone.

Jeter hit a 3-2 slider from Price into the left field bleachers for his 3,000 hit. He now joins Wade Boggs as the only players to collect their 3,000th hit on a HR.

Say what you want about Jeter, but the guy certainly has a flare for the dramatic. To get your 3,000th hit on a HR is pretty amazing. He also homered at 2:00 EST, which is amazing as well.
