It’s not often a starter on a team that is 11.5 games out of a playoff spot has a big start in the middle of July, but tonight is a big start for Los Angeles Dodgers RHP Hiroki Kuroda.

Kuroda has been the source of much trade speculation over the past couple of weeks, and if he can have a solid start against the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight, then his stock price will increase.

The 36-year-old Kuroda has pitched well as of late. Since June 1, Kuroda has a 2.32 ERA and has held batters to a .612 OPS in 42.2 innings pitched. For the entire season, Kuroda has an impressive 3.06 ERA and his striking out 6.5/9 in 114.2 IP.

The Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers are two teams that have been rumored to be interested in Kuroda, and I am sure will be scouting tonight’s game.
