Now, as high school football seasons are winding down and college football is now on the downhill slope, there is more buzz going on in the recruiting world. I'd like to take a minute a look at one of UVA's recruits from my Alma Marta Brookville High School, Logan Thomas. This kid is incredible to watch, he has a unique presence of mind on the field and plays all sides of the ball even special teams. He stands at 6'-6" 233 pounds. He plays quarterback and linebacker and also returns kicks and other things on the field. I've gotten to watch him play several times and there's nothing like it, this kid makes things happen.

According to some informants on the sabre, UVA's fan site, many people think he is going to commit to Virginia Tech after their match up with Maryland this week. I, however, am not one of those people. From everything I'm hearing out of Brookville, I think Logan will probably wait until after Brookville either wins the State Championship or get knocked out of the playoffs (which start this week, BHS has a bye). It seems that his short list right now (according to the visits he's been making) includes UNC, FSU, UVA, and VT, which seems about right. He is currently being recruited as a tight end type player, and if I can include some UVA biased, with the line of TEs put into the NFL by the Cavs, that would be his smartest choice.
Wherever he goes though, that particular team is going to get a great athlete and a outstanding person and student. So good luck and happy recruiting.
