Bama, Merry Christmas: From LSU

When the Alabama Crimson Tide arrived in Tiger Stadium there were four footballs waiting under the tree for them, wrapped by LSU’s Quarterback Jarrett Lee.

Alabama deserves credit for going into Baton Rouge and beating LSU today in a game that went into OT. The No.1 ranked Crimson Tide barely pulled out of the game alive, but they were able to win 27-21.

Despite the four INTs thrown by Jarrett Lee, LSU was able to control the game. The Tigers rushed for a total of 201 yards on a pretty good Bama defense.

Does my opinion on Bama change? I have to be honest with you. Bama is not as good as the voters make them out to be. Don’t get me wrong, I like to think the No.1 team in the country came into Baton Rouge and had to be forced into OT to win, but I do not think they are the best team in the country.

Florida outright beat LSU but Georgia and Bama were given wins thanks to pick sixes thrown by Jarrett Lee. When Bama and Florida meets in the SEC Championship, I think Florida will embarrass the Tide. Assuming Bama wins the next two games.

If they beat Florida then I will eat every word I said about this team. But thanks to LSU, Alabama will likely be in the Sugar Bowl playing Boise State while Florida will be playing in its second National Championship game in the last three years.

It was a great game, but when Bama looks back on this season they will be able to thank LSU for giving them the win.

Go ahead and take your shots at me, but I am just calling it how I see it.
