After watching a video interview from Fresno, California with Tito Ortiz on one of the many MMA sites that keep popping up like bad weeds, I am suddenly reminded of an old saying about a fat lady singing.
No, its not Kate Smith belting out her rendition of "God Bless America," like she did so beautifully in the 70's during the Philly Flyers (broad—street bullies) Stanley Cup run. It's more like, "it ain't over, till its over."
Ortiz underwent the same back injury surgical procedure as did Nate Quarry. Tito says all is well in Tito—land; everything that is, except a fight contract.
Tito, who has a solid fan base of which I am not affiliated with in any way, shape, or form says business with Dana White and the Fert bros is all good, but on a personal level, its another matter.
Regardless of that fact, he wants back in the UFC. His reason, you ask? Well, he thinks due to the fact that he has a win and a near win over Rashad Evans and Forrest "Gump" Griffin, it should be enough to catapult him right back into the mix.
Ortiz also basically said that one of my favorite fighters, Lyoto Machida, was a no talented runner, who he almost submitted in a triangle choke even though he has no jui- jitsu game to speak of.

Anyone who reads my articles knows that I'm a controversial guy. In other words, I like to come at things from different angles. Spouting out impressive stats that most of you are all ready aware of doesn't interest me.
If you wanted stats and no action, you would be baseball fans, right? So, here is my honest opinion about Ortiz. As we all know, he came in as a replacement for guy Mezger in 1997 at UFC 13. Mezger submitted him.
The hype surrounding Ortiz was that he was a sparring partner for Tank Abbott, who at that time was the Kimbo Slice of the UFC, a so called "pit fighter" who was only good for one round power shots that sometimes knocked opponents flat. So, Tito came along as the new Huntington Beach "bad boy."
Today he is a "has been," He is no where near the fighter he once was and back surgery or not, he would get torn apart by the top guys at 205 in the UFC, which is now stacked with talent.
I also truly believe that nobody is that interested in giving him the kind of money he wants. Why would they? His best days are behind him.
If Tito would like to see a real display of someone running during a fight, he should check out his fight with Wanderlei Silva.
Ortiz won the fight, but it was only because he was doing his best impression of the running man, even at one point turning his back and running in the opposite direction after getting tagged by one of Wandy's ferocious hay-makers.
Tito may get a contract with Affliction, but I don't believe Dana White will take him back, even for free. His porn star wife is pregnant with twins; maybe he could take her old job and make some extra dough that way.
Let's face it, there comes a time when being a pioneer or a MMA version of Rick Flair has to come to an end. Tito should hear the fat lady singing very clearly, but instead his big headed ego still tells him he is king of MMA.
If you care for life, don't waste your time; for time is what life is made of. (as quoted in Bordighera and the Western Riviera (1883) by Frederick Fitzroy Hamilton

Ouch, Stoker, that really hurts. If Tito wants to do as Nate Quarry did and try out his surgically enhanced back, I would say, let him try. He will have a long haul getting back into fighting shape, so don't rain on his parade. If he has that much determination he deserves a chance. After all if I recover from my own version of brain fever, I may even try writing again--don't you like a good comeback story?

Well, Stoker,
You already know my take on "Toto" Ortiz. Ever since his first and worst T-shirt escapade after he defeated Jerry Bohlander, I have rooted for Tito to lose every time since. And when Chuck and Randy pounded Tito's over-sized melon back to humility (albeit temporarily), it reinforced the obvious: The laws of life apply not just to some, but to all who dwell here on earth. When a person does the wrong thing, justice comes knocking sooner or later.

Now THAT would be my post of the day.

I have to say one of the best moments EVER in the UFC was Randy rolling Tito over and spanking him like a platinum blonde headed step child. That is the purest definitition of insult to injury and it was poetry at its finest. I really dont dislike Tito, I think he is a tool. But sometimes, I dont need to dislike someone for them to really make it obvious what they are like. Its not my dislike for them that makes them that way, they just are. Not my problem but entertaining at the very least.
What wrong with baseball Stoker, we may have finally found a topic we dont agree on. It is an acquired taste, that Ill give you, but the chess and science of baseball can be intritquing to say the least. If you have loyalties there that is. If not, its like watching paint dry I must admit.
Im surprised you went after his wife, that seems too low of a blow for you Stoker. Allow some room for improvement with everyone, maybe they will allow it for you. Live and let live my friend. I wouldnt take her home to mom, but maybe he sees something we will never see, not that we havent seen most of it already. Oops, I just made a hypocrite of myself. Moving on.......

One things for sure and that is that the UFC has nothing to gain by
re-signing Tito.. if Anything he's better off going to Affliction and
having some throwback matches with Belfort & Babalu
who he actually might have a chance of beating
He'd get demolished in Todays UFC and he'd just be made a Stepping Stone
for the up and comers in the LHW division

First of all, I am not a fan of Ortiz. I think he is annoying, and thinks way too highly of himself. That being said, it wouldn't surprise me if he came back to the UFC. He is still a popular fighter, and at 33 isn't too old to be able to adapt and win fights again.

Tito is and will always be one of my favorite fighters. With that said i think the UFC/Dana White should put all the B.S. to the side and talk with Tito about lowering his asking price. He has 3 fights at least left, and wis a huge draw! Chuck Liddell/Tito Ortiz 3 would be a HUGE draw. Tito Ortiz/Forrest Griffin 2. There are many possibilities...but will probably never happen!
