Detroit blew it tonight.
Up 5-2 with 16 minutes left in the game, the Red Wings let the Penguins mount a third period comeback as Jordan Staal's goal with 23 seconds remaining sent the game into overtime.
It was Staal's third goal...of the period! I puked a little.
About a minute and a half into overtime, Ruslan Fedotenkoklaldakao scored to give the Penguins a 7-6 victory.
I know this game goes under the OT section of the standings, but the loss is painful. Four goals allowed in the third period is Jason Grilli-bad. However, it wasn't just the third period.
The Penguins scored five goals with less than 10 minutes to play! That absolutely can't happen ever again.

Chris Osgood in those last 10 minutes looked more like Goldberg in his first game against the 'Hawks, rather than Julie "The Cat" Gaffney.
Despite below average defense and goaltending, the Wings have gotten off to a great start this season.
Those two units will have to start playing better if the Wings expect to overcome the Sharks in the West and defend their Cup. ![]()

Pretty sure Goldberg had about 5 inches on Osgood... even when he was 14.

Touche. I was mainly concerned with the number of goals he allowed in such a short period of time, more so than Osgood being short and looking younger at the age of 35 (almost 36) than a 14 year old Goldberg.

Yeah, Ozzie needs to step up his goal tending. The Wings are winning, but they are allowing way too many goals. To give Ozzie some credit, a lot of those goals he didn't have much of a chance, but thats where he needs to come up big. They also need to play a tighter team defense. They are takin too many chances tryin to put pucks in the opposite goal rather than just keep them out of their own.
The last goal the Pens scored, Rafalski should have been back on D, but he got caught cheatin, thus, a two on 1 opportunity and Ozzie didn't have much of a chance to stop it.
