According to Jim Molony of MLB.com, Carlos Lee visited Astros' team physician, Dr. Tom Mehlhoff, on Monday.

After his examination by Dr. Mehlhoff, which included X-Rays, Lee found out his hand had completely healed and the splint in his left hand was removed.

He will continue his routine training activities and will begin baseball related training in January. 

In other news, according to Nick Zaccardi of MLB.com, Jose Valverde was awarded the Hilton Smith award by the Negro League Baseball Museum on Monday.  Valverde was the National League recipient of the award and Francisco Rodriguez was the American League recipient.

This is Valverde's second Hilton Smith award.
