Perhaps it is because I have been off antibiotics for two days, but everything today has struck me as being incredibly humorous. And that goes double for tonight's episode of TUF 8.
Beginning this episode with Dave Kaplan getting drunk and challenging everyone was not exactly original. Wearing Speedos is not as bad as having to look at the products from Gabe Rudiger's high colonic or his naked body passed out by the pool, so this part of tonight's show was not so outlandish, but I thought it was hilarious anyway.
Junie, suddenly sober enough to commentate, thought that Kaplan's antics could top his own best efforts to do "crazy" on earlier episodes. This was a little unusual, but perhaps it is Korsachov's syndrome setting in early, who knows. I wonder how he got this weird idea?
Seeing Dave Kaplan goad Tom Lawlor into hitting him was entertaining, especially when he argues later that he wasn't really knocked out...? What? He was out the same way Gray Maynard was although he kept denying it while Joe Rogan kept showing a replay over and over (and from every possible camera angle), to convince him that indeed he was, even though he refused to admit it.
Who was the other dude in the double knockout that night? I have holes in my memory even though I can see the image so clearly. Darn MS!

Later in the show what actually amused me and my son the most was Frank Mir's opinion of his own athletic abilities as we watched the coachs' challenge which involved skills from Brazil's national pastime, soccer or "futbol."
It is hard to believe that Nog has never played soccer, or Mir either, considering that I had to play it in HS PE class in the early '60s and I live in Peoria, Illinois. Go figure?
Hearing Mir complement himself while watching his woeful attempts to score goals against the humble and lovable Nogueira was the most ridiculous display of arrogance I have ever seen, excepting when BJ Penn claimed to have won UFC 58, his fight with Georges St. Pierre. That took arrogance to a whole new level.
How will Mir explain his future loss to Nog? (Someone should ask BJ the same question).
The joy of the Red teams' post coachs' challenge was great to see and I am completely in love with team Nogueira when they are together and not planning or playing pranks on the Blue team.
(I am going to ask my husband to get a room at a motel where we meet our grandchildren some weekends so I can play pool basketball with them next weekend because I would like to capture the same feeling).
This week's prank was executed on Krzytof Soszynski, since it was his turn to fight next, although I am not sure when this became a tradition.
Filling Krzy's room with everything in the house as well as some poolside benches was not the worst trick that has been pulled on the show. It would have been a real mother to get his bed out of the closet from behind all the toilet paper. What a waste, and I wonder if it left any of the fighter's "short sheeted" in their bathrooms as a consequence?
Krzy putting all the plates, pans and silverware outside on the kitchen table, which he says was a real b*tch to get out of the house and to the basketball court (wonder what happened to his sore hand?), affected his own team as much as it did the Red team. It did look very artistic, however; I wonder if he ever works in tiles?
I will not discuss the fight because I do not want to spoil it for anyone waiting to view it until the TUF 8 marathon this weekend (on Spike). I will have forgotten how it tuned out by Saturday or even tomorrow, so of course I will be watching it again to see who won.
My conclusion is that: No. Nothing about tonight's show makes Junie appear more Normal.
Sorry, Junie, but once again you underestimate your own disability.

He was definitely out (great Gray Maynard reference).

Yeah, but who did he fight with? I can see him and his opponent out on the floor, but I can't remember the guy's name.

Rob Idiot Emerson. There's a guy you should hate. If you don't know why, check this out:

Did you notice that marijuana had a role in the bad behavior. Obviously six months straightened Rob out and my son's have done more time than that and did not learn from it. When the Diaz brothers fight and are tested for marijuana, which I believe is considered an illegal drug by the commision that regulates MMA, I think it indicates that its use is frowned upon--BJ, I hope you are paying attention!

I gotta say, even thought it's hard to seem full normal after what he's done, Junie is looking much better in the past couple episodes. The pranks were ok, simple, but they were in fact pranks. Those are the kind I like seeing, the harmless ones, rather than itching powder, fish, urine, semen, Etc. The first prank with the plastic wrap was the best though. I got a kick out of you not poling the ending, because I waited to read this article until after I had watched the show online, seeing as how I wasn't hooked up to a cable line anywhere. So since we're not spoiling this, all I'm going to say is wow, I could not have predicted that outcome. That was my absolute favorite move, and made the rest of the episode worth watching.

Good work buddy, you have a great memory! Darn, Rob Emerson. That was a strange fight, wasn't it?

i laughed so hard, about time one of the drunken idiots got punched in the face.

Not to get off topic, but as a side note, check out U.S.A. gymnast Alicia Sacramone punching her friend in the face. It's on youtube, she throws a solid left hook and the guy goes down.

And the amazing part is, the idiot asked for it!

and honestly at this point in the show i adore Nogueira more and more each time he talks, he reminds me very strongly of my coach at OSU, from the grandfather like acceptance, his broken English, love of competition and hard work and even the slightly irrational anger (as seen with Vinny).
on the other hand i like Frank Mir less and less and i really liked Mir coming into the show

Me too! Nog and Pops Stankie are my favorites! Mir has become rather irritating, like a pebble in my shoe.

Same here, I'm a big fan of Mir, but it's getting very hard to like him now.

I 100% agree with this comment.

Although the election is over, I too endorse this message.

I loved when Kaplan was knocked out in the bathroom and still afterwards can't admit he was out.
